About the Role

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead the large-scale sourcing, procurement, and international logistics of used academic books from Brazil and other relevant markets. This role requires a well-connected individual with an extensive network across universities, libraries, wholesalers, distributors, liquidation partners, and academic book suppliers.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience handling high-volume book procurement projects and be capable of sourcing, purchasing, and exporting significant quantities of used academic books (100,000–200,000+ books) while ensuring compliance with all legal, customs, and export requirements.


Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and establish relationships with universities, libraries, academic institutions, book wholesalers, distributors, and bulk book suppliers.
  • Source and procure used academic books in large volumes (100,000–200,000+ units).
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and procurement agreements with suppliers.
  • Manage end-to-end procurement operations, including supplier onboarding and inventory acquisition.
  • Coordinate domestic and international logistics, warehousing, transportation, and shipment planning.
  • Ensure compliance with Brazilian export regulations and destination-country import requirements.
  • Handle customs documentation, permits, licenses, and other legal formalities related to international book shipments.
  • Develop scalable procurement strategies to support ongoing global demand.
  • Monitor supplier performance, inventory availability, and delivery timelines.
  • Build and maintain a reliable network of procurement and logistics partners.


Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience in academic book procurement, publishing, library acquisitions, book distribution, or related industries.
  • Strong network of contacts within universities, libraries, wholesalers, distributors, and book resellers.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large-volume procurement projects.
  • Knowledge of international trade, customs procedures, export documentation, and freight logistics.
  • Experience shipping goods from Brazil to international destinations.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Ability to independently manage complex procurement and logistics operations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluency in Portuguese and English preferred.


Preferred Experience

  • Experience sourcing used academic, educational, scientific, medical, legal, or technical books.
  • Existing relationships with logistics providers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and export specialists.
  • Experience handling multi-country procurement and distribution projects.
  • Background in publishing, library services, academic institutions, or book supply chains.

  • Distribution: International shipment to designated countries
